# Organization Settings

Organization Settings configure how GrowthFactor analyzes sites for your organization—defining your competitors, complements, demographic presets, and the parameters that power your sales projections.

***

## Accessing Organization Settings

Navigate to **Organization Settings** in the left sidebar under Settings. Only administrators can modify these settings.

## Model Configuration

Your sales projection model is calibrated to your brand's performance. Model settings determine:

* Which demographic variables are weighted in analog matching
* How similarity scores are calculated
* Which stores are included in the comparison set

### Viewing Current Variables

To view your current model configuration:

1. Go to **Organization Settings** in the left sidebar under Settings
2. Select the **Demographic Variables** tab

You'll see a table of all configured variables, including the variable code, metric type, and any base variables they're calculated from.

Use the [ESRI Data Browser](https://la.arcgis.com/databrowser-v2/index.html) to find variable codes. Enter the full code including collection ID (e.g., `KeyUSFacts.TOTPOP_CY`).

### Requesting Variable Changes

To request changes to your model's demographic variables:

1. Go to **Organization Settings**
2. Select the **Demographic Variables** tab
3. Click **+ Change Variables** in the top right

In the Request Variable Changes form, select your request type:

* **Add new variables** — Include additional demographic factors in your model
* **Change existing variables** — Modify how current variables are configured
* **Remove variables** — Remove variables no longer relevant to your analysis

Describe the changes you need in the text field, then click **Submit Request**. Your GrowthFactor team will review and implement the changes.

### Multiple Models

Some organizations have multiple models for different store formats, regions, or concepts. When searching a site, the results panel indicates which model is active (e.g., "GrowthFactor Model: Non-Texas Stores").

Work with your GrowthFactor team to set up additional models if your portfolio requires segmented analysis.

## Trade Zones

Trade zones define the geographic areas used to calculate demographics and analyze site potential. To configure trade zones:

1. Go to **Organization Settings**
2. Select the **Trade Zones** tab
3. Click **+ Add Trade Zone** to create a new zone

For each trade zone, configure:

* **Type** — Choose from Ring Buffer (radius-based), Network Service Area (drive time), or Foot Traffic
* **Value** — The numeric size of the zone
* **Unit** — Miles, Kilometers, Minutes, or Percent depending on zone type

You can configure multiple trade zones to analyze different catchment areas. Click the trash icon to remove a trade zone.

## Brand Behaviors

Brand behaviors define how specific brands relate to your site analysis.

1. Go to **Organization Settings**
2. Use the preset box at the top to select the preset you want to edit
3. Select the **Brand Behaviors** tab

For each brand, configure:

* **Brand Name** — Start typing to search and select from available brands
* **Behavior** — Choose how this brand relates to your concept:
  * **Drawn** — Complement brands whose customers are likely to also visit you
  * **Avoid** — Competitor brands that draw from the same customer pool
  * **Neutral** — Brands to track on the map without factoring into scoring

Click **+ Add Brand** to add a new entry. Click the trash icon to remove a brand.

When you're done editing, click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the page.

## Category Behaviors

Category behaviors let you track entire business categories, useful when you want to monitor a type of business rather than a specific brand.

1. Go to **Organization Settings**
2. Use the preset box at the top to select the preset you want to edit
3. Select the **Category Behaviors** tab

For each category, configure:

* **Category Name** — Start typing to search and select from available categories
* **Behavior** — Choose how this category relates to your concept:
  * **Drawn** — Categories that attract customers who are also likely to visit you
  * **Avoid** — Categories that compete for the same customer base
  * **Neutral** — Categories to track on the map without factoring into scoring

Click **+ Add Category** to add a new entry. Click the trash icon to remove a category.

When you're done editing, click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the page.

## GF Score Settings

GF Score Settings control how the AI-powered [GrowthFactor Score](https://docs.growthfactor.ai/analyze-site-intelligence-and-selection/growthfactor-score) is generated for your organization. The following can be configured for your brand by the GrowthFactor team:

* **Organization Context** — A description of your brand, target customer, and strategic priorities that the AI uses when evaluating sites. A clear context helps the AI generate more relevant, calibrated scores.
* **Lenses** — The scoring dimensions that make up the GrowthFactor Score. Lenses can be added, removed, enabled or disabled, and have their descriptions customized to reflect how your brand evaluates sites.
* **Lens Weights** — Each lens can be weighted to reflect what matters most to your concept. If one or two dimensions are more important than others, their weights can be increased so they contribute more to the overall score.
* **Data Sources** — Each lens can be connected to specific data sources (e.g., demographics, nearby businesses, cannibalization analysis, analog stores) so the AI grounds its evaluation in real data rather than general knowledge alone. Data sources can be toggled on or off per lens.

To configure or update your GF Score settings, reach out to the GrowthFactor team at <analyst@growthfactor.ai> and we'll tailor everything to match your brand's needs.
